In the fall of 1974, Buddy decided to further expand his High School award program by creating an actual High School Hall of Fame, beginning with the inaugural class of 1975. A judges' committee was established, under the direction of Hank Zurieck, to receive nominations to the Hall and vote in annual inductees.
