When not climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro (as he did in 2013) Seven Hills' senior Matthew Marquardt is concentrating on winning another Div. II Ohio state championship in swimming.

A NISCA All-American and a 4-year varsity swimmer for the Stingers, Matthew was a part of two Ohio state Div. II championship relay teams (200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay) last season. He also was Ohio state runner-up in two individual races, the 100 backstroke (50.01) and the 100 butterfly (50.70), helping Seven Hills capture its first-ever Ohio state Div. II swimming team title.

Matthew holds 3 school records in swimming and his junior year was named Cincinnati Div. II Swimmer of the Year (Enquirer) and 1st team All-Ohio for the 3rd time.

An all-around athlete, Matthew has competed in lacrosse, soccer, cross country and track for the Stingers. He holds the school record in the track 3200 run (10:36.22).

Active in community service, he is a Cum Laude Society scholar and an Academic All-American. He has committed to Princeton University
