One of Cooper's returning starters this basketball season was 6-foot-2 senior all-star forward Whitney Lind, who, earlier this year, became only the second Cooper girls' basketball player to surpass the 2,000-point mark in career scoring.

Whitney holds the Cooper school record for career rebounds and games played. She also holds school records for most points in a game (40 vs. Newport Central Catholic) and most rebounds in a game (19 vs. Boone County). She was named 9th Region Player of the Year as well as NKAC Div. I Player of the Year this season and is a candidate for Ms. Kentucky Basketball.

Whitney lit it up during the team's exciting state playoff run last season, when she netted 44 points in her team's three state tournament games. The 25-10 Jaguars made it to the semifinals of the state tournament after winning the first 9th Region championship in the history of the program. Whitney was named to the state all-tournament team, just one of many honors she accrued.

She was also named first-team all-Northern Kentucky by the Enquirer, first-team all-9th Region, Northern Kentucky Player of the Year by the Greater Cincinnati Basketball Hall of Fame and second-team all-state. She was also selected to the Kentucky Junior All-Star Team. In her great career, Whitney has been named to the all-Region team four times and has been named as a coaches' Northern Kentucky all-star three times. She has had a strong senior season, too, with high-scoring games against Mercy (31 points), Ryle (27 points) and Elizabethtown (27 points).

A super National Honor Society student with a 4.47 GPA, she is active in community service. Her favorite athlete and most-like-to-meet is Joe Burrow, favorite entertainer is Kevin Hart, favorite book is The Hunger Games trilogy, and favorite movie is Love and Basketball. She also plays basketball for the Kentucky Premier club team and will suit up collegiately at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania.

COACH'S QUOTE – "Whitney's success is strongly attributed to her hard work and dedication in everything she does. Those qualities have carried over into making a lasting impact for the Cooper girls basketball program."
— Justin Holthaus, Varsity Basketball Coach.
