Mount Notre Dame is no stranger to winning Ohio state championships in sports, in the past having won state titles in both basketball and volleyball. But, last season, with the help of United Soccer Coaches' All-American forward/midfielder Peyton Kohls, the school won its first-ever Ohio state title in soccer. The Cougars went unbeaten on the season, finishing 21-0-1 over all and 8-0-0 in league play. The Cougars were ranked #1 in Ohio Div. I all season long.

Entering her senior season, Peyton has scored an impressive 49 goals with 22 assists for 120 points in her great career. Last season, she filled the stat sheet with top numbers. She scored 27 goals, which led the GGCL and set a school single-season record (breaking her own record). She also had 13 assists (second in the GGCL) and 67 points (led the GGCL). Her numerous awards included being named first-team GGCL, Cincinnati Co-Player of the Year, Southwest Ohio Player of the Year and Ohio Div. I Player of the Year. She was also named Gatorade Ohio Soccer Player of the Year, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also salutes high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field.

Peyton really got to highlight her athletic skills during the playoffs in the run for the state title. In the regional 1-0 championship game win vs. Centerville, she scored her team's only goal in overtime. She then scored two goals in the 4-0 state semifinals' win vs. New Albany. Plus, she scored a goal in the 4-1 state title game win vs. Cuyahoga Falls Walsh Jesuit, a team that previously had won 10 soccer Ohio state titles.

Peyton also played for the Cincinnati United Premier CUP 05 Girls Academy club team that won a national championship last summer.

A great student (4.02 GPA, National Honor Society) who is active in community service, Peyton will play soccer at the next level at Xavier University.

Her favorite athlete is Christian Pulisic, favorite entertainer is Kevin Hart, favorite book is The Fault in Our Stars, favorite movie is the Harry Potter series and most-like-to-meet is Blake Lively.

COACH'S QUOTE – "Peyton embodies the whole picture of a student-athlete. She's reliable, hardworking, determined, a quality person on/off the field and elevates those around her to be their best."
— Kiersten Johnson, Varsity Soccer Coach
