ACCOMPLISHMENTS: A 4-year starter in both basketball and softball, Lauren was 16-8 in softball (1.03 ERA, school record 234 Ks, 7 shutouts) last year for the FAVC champs, leading the conference in wins and strikeouts. She also hit .425 with a league-leading 6 homeruns. A 2-time FAVC Cardinal Player of the Year, Lauren has been 1st team all-FAVC 3 times and 1st team all-city and 1st team all-SWO district twice. Last year, she also was 2nd team all-state. Lauren is also a good basketball player, averaging 8.6 ppg. this past season and named 2nd team all-conference. During the summer, Lauren plays for the Miami Valley Xpress Gold team and pitched in the 2009 ASA Gold World Series in Oklahoma City. Lauren is an academic all-star, too, and is active in community service. She will play softball next year at Furman University. Her favorite athlete is LeBron James, favorite entertainer is Johnny Depp, and most-like-to-meet is Angelina Jolie.
