A 4-year starting midfielder for McNicholas, senior soccer All-American Sophie Gorman has started strong this season, in her first six games scoring six goals with two assists (14 points). She entered her senior season already having chalked up 32 career goals and 23 assists for 87 points.

Last season, Sophie recorded 6 goals-4 assists-16 points, helping the Lady Rockets to their third straight GCL Co-Ed Central title. Her numerous honors included being named 1st team GGCL Co-Ed for the 4th time. She also was Cincinnati Div. II Co-Player of the Year, 1st team all-city (Enquirer), 1st team SWO District and 1st team all-state.

As a sophomore, Sophie scored 16 goals (led league) with 9 assists for a league-leading 41 points and was a big part of the school's first-ever Div. II Ohio state girls' soccer championship.

This past summer, Sophie was a member of the Kings Hammer Academy U18 soccer team that made it to the semifinals at the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships in Frisco, Texas, and she was named to the all-tournament team.

A National Honor Society student who is active in community service, Sophie has committed to play soccer next year at the University of Cincinnati.
