Simon Kenton soccer star Abigail Zoeller opened her senior season in impressive fashion -- scoring from the kickoff, four seconds into the game against South Oldham.

A versatile athlete who can play several positions on the soccer pitch, Abigail is the reigning NKY Player of the Year, having earned the top honor last season when she helped lead the Lady Pioneers to an 18-4 record and a first-ever Kentucky 8th region title. The 18 wins set a school record.

Abigail last season led the Lady Pioneers with 31 goals and 26 assists and was named 1st team all-state for the second time. She was also Kentucky Region 8 Soccer Player of the Year.

Twice Abigail has been a finalist for the Gatorade Kentucky Soccer Player of the Year, and before all is said and done this season, she may set the school record in career assists and, perhaps, career goals.

A good student who is active in community service, Abigail's club team is Ohio Elite. At Simon Kenton, she also played basketball and kicker on the football team. She will play soccer collegiately at Xavier University.
