Fairfield senior JuTahn McClain is one of the area's elite athletes, a
three-year varsity football running back who has committed to play
collegiately at the University of Kentucky. Entering this season,
JuTahn already had run for 2,592 yards and 33 touchdowns, plus had
seven TDs receiving.
He is adding to these stats each game this season. In the first nine
games, he has rushed for 1,716 yards and 21 TDs. JuTahn has rushed for
at least one hundred yards in 17 straight regular season games. He
also has three 200+ yard rushing games this season in wins vs.
Hamilton, Lakota East and Sycamore.
Last season, JuTahn was the Greater Miami Conference Offensive Player
of the Year when he racked up 2,320 all-purpose yards. He rushed for
1,754 yards and 25 touchdowns. He had 24 receptions for 416 yards and
five touchdowns. He had six kickoff returns for 160 yards and a
touchdown.
In a game to remember last season, JuTahn in a win vs. Centerville,
recorded 437 all-purpose yards, scoring seven total touchdowns. He has
already set numerous school records, including most TDs in a game (7),
most TDs in a season (31) and most total yards in a game (437).
Twice JuTahn has been named 1st team GMC and 1st team all-SWO
District. Additionally, last season he was named Cincinnati Offensive
Player of the Year and Southwest Ohio District Offensive Player of the
Year. He was also named 1st team all-Ohio and was a finalist for the
Cincinnati.com Sports Awards' Big School Football Player of the Year.
JuTahn also runs track for Fairfield and his sophomore year was the
district champion in the long jump and was named 1st team all-city.
Active in community service, his favorite athlete is Saquan Barkley,
favorite entertainer is Kevin Hart, favorite book is Bridge to
Terabithia, favorite movie is The Interview and most-like-to-meet is
Tom Holland & RDJ.
