One of the area's best softball players is infielder Cassidy Hudson, a senior at Lakota East High School.

Cassidy accumulated some impressive numbers in her junior year. In 32 games, she hit for a .523 average while having a .560 on base percentage. She also scored 48 runs and had 58 hits, including 12 doubles, five triples and four homeruns. Plus, she had 34 RBI and 16 stolen bases.

She helped the Thunderhawks win the GMC championship, district championship and the regional title, the first in 19 years. They finished 30-2 and were Ohio state runners-up. In the big state semifinals' win vs. Westerville, Cassidy went 3-for-4 with a double.

Cassidy's play has earned numerous honors. Her sophomore year, she was selected 1st team all-GMC and 2nd team all-state. Last season, she was GMC Player of the Year, Journal-News Area Player of the Year, 1st team all-city (Enquirer) and 1st team all-state.

Her summer club is the Ohio Thunder. A good student, Cassidy will play next season at Fairmont State University in West Virginia.

Her favorite athlete and most-like-to-meet is Kris Bryant, favorite entertainer is Luke Combs, favorite book is Dreamland and favorite movie is Bridesmaids.
