Scott High School senior Mya Meredith is an all-star basketball player who has already scored 1,000+ points in her varsity career.

Although a knee injury wiped out her junior season last year, Mya in her sophomore year averaged 25.2 points per game to go along with eight rebounds per game and shooting 79% at the charity stripe. Big games included scoring 44 points vs. South Laurel, 27 points (with 13 rebounds) vs. Mason County and 35 points (with 10 rebounds) vs. Bishop Brossart. The Lady Eagles were 23-11 and were 37th district champions and runners-up in the first-ever Kentucky Class 2A state championship tournament.

Mya was named to the regional all-tournament team and the Kentucky state Class 2A all-tournament team. In addition, she was named second team all-state by the coaches' association, first team all-NKAC Div. I and first team all-Northern Kentucky by the Enquirer.

Also playing for the Kentucky Premier club team, Mya, who received several Div. I offers, will play basketball collegiately next season at Western Kentucky University.

Her favorite athlete is Kyrie Irving, favorite entertainer is Kevin Hart, favorite book is any June B. Jones books, favorite movie is Friday and most like to meet is LeBron James.
