At the top of Cincinnati's high school girls' tennis charts is Mason
Senior Shyla Aggarwal. Shyla is a three-time GMC tennis champion and is
the reigning sectional, district and Ohio state champion in singles. She
was Ohio state runner-up as a sophomore.
Last season, as a junior, Shyla was a perfect 26-0 in singles matches
and became Mason's first-ever Ohio state singles champion. She helped
the Comets win a fifth straight Ohio team championship and a seventh
straight GMC title. Shyla earned numerous honors, including being named
Cincinnati Div. I Player of the Year and all-Ohio, plus she was
nominated for the All-USA Today's High School Sports Awards' national
girls' tennis player of the year. She is also the two-time reigning
Greater Miami Conference Player of the Year.
A great student (4.0 GPA) who is active in community service, Shyla will
continue her education and next level of tennis play at Yale University.
Her favorite athlete is Serena Williams, favorite entertainer is Ana
Stowell, favorite book is This Is Where It Ends, favorite movie is Moana
and most-like-to-meet is Alex Zverev.
