A 4-year volleyball varsity starter as outside hitter, Mt. Notre Dame senior Sydney Mukes helped the Cougars to back-to-back Ohio state championships her sophomore and junior seasons. She had a big 11 kills in last year's winning state title game vs. Massillon Jackson. The Cougars last season went 27-2 and claimed the school's 8th state volleyball title over all, tying a state record.

Sydney last season had 271 kills, 39.5 blocks, 92 digs and 4 aces and was named 2nd team GGCL, 3rd team all-city, 3rd team SWO District, and 3rd team all-Ohio.

This season, Sydney so far has 253 kills, 126 digs, and 29 blocks for the regional champs, and has earned 1st team all-GGCL honors. She has recorded nearly 800 kills in her fine varsity career. Sydney also plays volleyball for the Elevation club team.

An honors student active in community service, Sydney will play volleyball collegiately at LSU.

Her favorite athlete is Deja McClendon, favorite entertainer is Kevin Hart, favorite book is The Fault in Our Stars and most-like-to-meet is Beyonce.
