Michelle Strizak

Class of 2013

An Under Armour volleyball 1st team All-American and a 4-year varsity starter, Michelle Strizak helped lead the 2011 Cougars to a 24-5 record and the Div. I Ohio state championship. This past season, Michelle recorded 470 kills, 354 digs, 54 aces, and 42 blocks, earning numerous honors, including GGCL Player of the Year, Cincinnati Div. I Player of the Year, SWO District Player of the Year, and 1st team all-Ohio. She was also named Gatorade Ohio Player of the Year.

Active in community service, Michelle, who also competed in track & field for Mt. Notre Dame, is an academic all-star, with a 4.0 GPA and is a member of National Honor Society. She will take her volleyball skills next season to the University of Illinois.

Michelle has a volleyball heritage: her mom played volleyball in college at Xavier, her brother played at Moeller and won a state championship, her sister played at Mt. Notre Dame and won a state championship, and her cousin played in high school and was an All-American player.

Andrew Benintendi

Andrew Benintendi leaves Madeira High School as one of the most decorated prep athletes ever to play in Cincinnati, and one of the few elite athletes to be named Ohio Player of the Year in two different sports — basketball and baseball. In baseball, Andrew totaled 213 career hits - second most in Ohio high school history — plus he scored 199 runs in his career and 63 runs this past season, both Ohio state records. Andrew finished his career with a .542 batting average, with 166 RBI, 24 homeruns and just 14 strikeouts.

This past season, he was named USA National High School Player of the Year and 1st team All American by the American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings. He also was Gatorade Ohio Player of the Year, Coaches Association Ohio Div. Iii Player of the year for the 2nd time, 1st team all-Ohio for the third time and CHL Player of the Year for the 2nd time.

In basketball, Andrew holds numerous school records and is the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,753 points. His senior year he was CHL Player of the Year, Cincinnati Div. III Co-Player of the Year, 1st team SWO district and 3rd team all-Ohio. His junior year he was also named Ohio Div. III Basketball Co-Player of the Year. In addition, Andrew last year as a junior was a finalist for the LaRosa's MVP of the Year award.

Andrew was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 31st round, and has a full scholarship in baseball to the University of Arkansas.
