A shooting guard, now in his fifth year of playing varsity basketball, Beechwood Tigers' senior Scotty Draud is one of the best all-around players in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and has already scored 2,400+ points and pulled down 500+ rebounds in his great career. The Enquirer has named him to its preseason all-Northern Kentucky team.

The school's all-time leading scorer, Scotty last season averaged 23 points-7 rebounds per game. He had numerous big games including double-double games vs. Cooper (27 points-13 rebounds), Scott (34 points-11 rebounds), Dixie Heights (36 points-10 rebounds), and Ryle (24 points-10 rebounds). Plus, he had a near-miss double-double vs. South Dearborn (32 points-9 rebounds).

Scotty helped last year's squad to a 29-6 record (the most single season wins in school history), winning the 35th District championship for the first time in 70 years and a first-ever All-"A" Regional championship. He has earned numerous honors, including three times being named 1st team all-NKAC and 1st team all-region. He was also named all-state and was a finalist for Cincinnati.com Sports' Awards Small School Player of the Year.

A good student who is active in community service, Scotty will play basketball at the next level but has not yet selected a college. He also plays for the Griffin Elite club team. He is the son of former Vanderbilt star and Highlands' basketball legend Scott Draud, who scored 2,865 points in his career for the Bluebirds.

Scotty's favorite athlete is Michael Jordan, favorite entertainer is Leonardo DiCaprio, favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird, favorite movie is Inception and most-like-to-meet is Leonidas, leader of Sparta.
