Senior Kathryn Shaffer is a soccer All-American defensive stalwart for the Summit Country Day girls' soccer team that pitched eight shutouts last season and went 12-3-3 for the year. The team has 31 shutouts in her three varsity seasons. The team went 9-4-3 over all this season, with five shutouts and finished second in the MVC standings.

One of the top defensive players in Ohio, Kathryn's defensive talents have been recognized with numerous awards, including being named first team MVC, Cincinnati Div. II Co-Player of the Year, Southwest Ohio District Div. II Player of the Year and first team all-Ohio. She was a finalist for the Cincinnati Sports Awards' Soccer Player of the Year and was also named winner of the MVC's Dick Snyder Sportsmanship Award. She is on this season's All-American Watch List and was named as one of Ohio Top 21 high school soccer players.

A great student and National Honor Society member who is very active in community service, she has not yet committed to a college. She is also an all-conference swimmer for her school.

Her favorite athlete is Julie Ertz, favorite entertainer is Jerry Seinfeld, favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird or anything by Agatha Christie, favorite movie is Ocean's 8 and most-like-to-meet is Joe Burrow.
