Senior Jyaire Brown is a versatile all-star football player, an Under Armour All-American and four-year high school varsity letter-winner on this year's highly regarded (and defending GMC champion) Lakota West football team. He will be taking the field next season as an Ohio State Buckeye, choosing OSU over a slew of other big-school offers.

Jyaire was born in Cincinnati, but spent his first two high school seasons at Warren Easton High School in New Orleans before returning to the Queen City.

It is projected that at Ohio State, Jyaire will be a defensive back, but he also has been a big part in Tom Bolden's offense this season. In the first seven games he had 326 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He also had a punt return for a TD, and, on defense, he had six solo tackles, a fumble recovery and an interception.

His many honors for the defending GMC champions who went 8-1 last season include being named first team all-GMC, first team all-city (Enquirer), first team all-SWO District and first team all-state. He was a finalist for Cincinnnati.com's Sports Awards' Defensive Player of the Year.

Rated as the best defensive back in Ohio, Jyaire participated in the prestigious invitation-only Under Armour All-American Camp in Columbus and then was selected to participate in the Under Armour All-American Bowl in January in Florida.

Active in community service, Jyaire has also participated in track for the Firebirds.

His favorite athlete is Marshon Lattimore, favorite entertainer is Martin Lawrence, favorite book is The Hate That You Give, favorite movie is Love and Basketball and most-like-to-meet is Jalen Ramsey.

COACH'S QUOTE – "Jyaire is a great young man. He is quiet, unassuming and humble; as well as demonstrating leadership, competitiveness and a hunger to be the best at what he does."
— Tom Bolden, Varsity Football Coach
