Darriana “Dee” Alexander

Purcell Marian High School
Basketball
Class of 2025

Purcell Marian graduating senior Dee Alexander is one of the most decorated student-athletes in Ohio high school sports' history. The basketball star scored 2,348 career points and led her team to four straight Ohio state championships, a feat accomplished only by four teams in Ohio high school history. She scored more career points and pulled down more career rebounds than any other player in school history.

Among her many awards are being named a McDonald's high school All-American, a three-time Ms. Ohio Basketball winner and a two-time LaRosa's female Athlete of the Year, thus becoming the only student-athlete to win back-to-back LaRosa's MVP of the Year Awards in the history of the program. In addition, for four straight years, she has been named MVC Player of the Year, Cincinnati Div. II/II Player of the Year by the Enquirer and Ohio Div. II/III Player of the Year. She was been named SWO District 16 Player of the Year four straight years. She also was Gatorade Ohio Basketball Player of the Year two years in a row. Even better, Greater Cincinnati will continue to see Dee Alexander's exceptional skills and talent on the court as she has committed to play her college basketball at the University of Cincinnati.

Success began early for Dee Alexander; her freshman year she set a school record for single-game scoring when she put up 49 points (to go along with 15 rebounds) in a win vs. McNicholas. When she was named Ms. Ohio Basketball as a sophomore, she was only the second sophomore in Ohio history to earn that honor. Her junior season, Dee scored a school-record 682 points and led Purcell Marian (29-1) to a third consecutive Ohio state title.

Recognized as one of the best high school players in the United States, Dee was invited to participate in the 2024 USA Basketball Women's U17 National Team trials in Colorado Springs. During the summer of 2023, Dee was a member of the USA Basketball U16 National Women's team that won a gold medal at the FIBA Americas Championships in Merida, Mexico.

CONGRATULATIONS, DEE!
