One of Cincinnati's top multi-sport athletes is Mt. Notre Dame senior Grace Pitzer, an all-star in softball and basketball and a finalist for the Cincinnati Enquirer's 2025 High School Sports Awards' Athlete of the Year.
In softball, Grace led the GGCL in batting average (.515) and home runs (9). She also had 25 RBI. The Cougars were GGCL champs with a 15-6 overall record, an undefeated 8-0 record in league play. Last season as a junior, she hit a league second-best .556 with six doubles, two triples and three home runs (second in the GGCL). She also stole 18 bases and drove in 18 runs. She helped lead the Cougars to a GGCL title, finishing undefeated in league play at 8-0 and going 14-4 overall. She was named first-team all-state in Div. II.
For her accomplishments as a junior, she was named GGCL Co-Player of the Year, first-team all-city and honorable mention all-SWO District. She has been first-team all-league three straight years.
In basketball, as a shooting guard, she averaged 12.4 points per game this past season, as well as 2.2 steals per game and 2.2 assists per game. Top games included those vs. Lawrence North (21 points), McNicholas (19 points) and Dixie Heights (18 points). She led the Cougars to an eighth straight GGCL title with a 22-3 overall record, an undefeated 8-0 in league play. Grace was named first-team all-GGCL for the second time, second-team all-city (Enquirer), second-team all-SWO District, and was named to the Ohio/Kentucky All-Star Game.
A great student with a 4.3 GPA (honor roll all four years, National Honor Society) who is active in community service, Grace has committed to play basketball next season at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. Her favorite athlete is Peyton Manning, favorite entertainer is SZA, favorite book is The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, favorite movie is How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and most-like-to-meet is Sabrina Carpenter.
